New York, NY —October 31, 2016 — Anthony Philip Fine Art is proud to present "The Hidden Nature of Things," an exhibit of recent work by Brooklyn painter Cair Crawford. The exhibit will be on display in our Bushwick gallery from November 4 through December 23, 2016.
"The Hidden Nature of Things" is an attempt to see the re-merging of the human with the natural world and to gain a greater understanding of our place in the universe through the combining of spirituality and reason.
Brooklyn-based conceptual painter Cair Crawford follows a narrative rather than representational path. Her paintings function as a meditative text, incorporating repetitive actions and tangential arcs to provide definition and form to the formless. Much like a musical score that provides instructions, while being open to interpretation, the nature of her stories are open for the viewer to superimpose their own personal narratives. Her materials are canvas, paint, tape, and fasteners. They are as ephemeral as the story she is telling.
The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, November 4, from 6-9pm and will continue during regular business hours through Friday, December 23, 2016.
Preview appointments are available. Please call 929.279.1984 to schedule.
