What I paint are scenes of real life, especially life in New York City. I lived in the city for several years after art school, then moved to Connecticut. On return trips to the city I began painting it, and really connected with strong feelings I have for things there. My work is mainly focused on what I find beautiful and interesting about contemporary life. Portraying contemporary women is another focus for me.

I've had work in the National Portrait Gallery in DC, and the National Portrait Gallery in London. Recently I had a painting in the Butler Institute of American Art.
