“We take breaks because we have to; otherwise it would be all work and no play. Sometimes we get caught up in a constant wheel of creation but it’s hard to separate work from life when you love what you do.
They sort of become one.”

From a Nice Niche Interview, 2013
The creators of Maison Privé Catering (located in Greenwich, CT) were looking for an opportunity to bring their food into the community of Bedford, NY. It is their goal to offer healthy, delicious food into the homes of their friends, family, and neighbors. G.E. Brown is committed to bringing back an old-fashioned, time honored approach to the slow-food movement. They remain socially dedicated to protecting the inherent value that not only lies within each individually grown stalk of wheat, but also in the hand of the farmer who sows it. Their menus are distinctive and unique, yet reflect the bounty of each season.
While designing their retail space, they discovered that in the late 1890’s, the store G.E. Brown existed right in the village and served the local community. The team loved the idea of paying homage to a part of Bedford’s history and thus the store was named.
